Got pictures to show from your Facebook Photos?

Now you can show these pictures on your Joomla site, with FaboAlbum.

FaboAlbum is a Joomla extension that allows you to showcase the photographs that you have kept in the Facebook Photos application, without requiring you to store the pictures outside of Facebook.

Features

  • Displays the photos in a Joomla module.
  • Displays the photos in a fully AJAX-based Gallery. Many people have asked for this feature, so here it is :) .
  • Clicking on a thumbnail in the Gallery opens up a Lightbox showing a bigger version of the picture.
  • Scrolling between pages of photos in the Gallery does not require the whole web page to reload. Only the Gallery itself will reload, resulting in a more pleasant user experience.
  • Admin is able to set how many thumbnails to show in the Gallery. If there are more pictures in an album than the number of thumbnails per page, "Prev" and "Next" links will be displayed.
  • Visitors do not need to leave your web site to view your Facebook photos.
  • You can select which Facebook Photo albums to display to visitors, and only these albums will be displayed.
  • Visitors can choose which album (out of those chosen by you) to view.
  • Each photo can be shown in a higher resolution by clicking on the picture, all still within your site.
  • Uses Ajax to load and show the photos. By using Ajax, your web pages get displayed to your site visitors while FaboAlbum retrieves the data it needs in the background. This translates to a smoother experience.
  • Photo captions are shown in the enlarged view, if the captions are available.
  • Caching allows a dramatic improvement in loading speed.
FaboAlbum consists of a component and a module portion. The component portion allows for the management of the software and also fetches data from Facebook, while the module displays the photographs.

FaboAlbum comes with a frontend component, which is an AJAX-based Gallery, as well as a module.
The gallery is fully AJAX, which means only the gallery is loaded when the user scrolls between pages in your gallery. The rest of the web page is not reloaded, resulting in a faster and more spiffy user experience.
When a thumbnail is clicked, a Lightbox appears with a bigger version of the picture shown.
